Copper Worldwide magazine attended IERC 2019 with a Poster Presentation

China restrictions on scrap imports have had a major effect on the market for WEEE recycling. Integrators and sorting technology specialists alike have seen an upsurge in both enquiries and projects running into 2019, from producers and others keen to capitalise on a wider, higher value range of material fractions than before. The processing methodology has also shifted towards separation of the plastics early on, to recycle the valuable parts. One of the problems with plastics is fire retardants and the associated EU legislation. The remaining metals can then be sorted. For more information see CW Vol 9 No 1 issue.
